This morning I was down at The White Horse, Parsons Green, which had been transformed into The Pink Lion for the day to celebrate Thomas Pink who are the Official Outfitters to The British & Irish Lions 125th Tour to Australia.
The pop-up pub in South West London was transformed into a mecca for stylish rugby fans, featuring Astroturf bars, screenings of historic matches and homebrewed Pink Pints.
The Pink Lion has been a project I’ve been working on for the past four months, so it was great to see over 2,000 come down and take part in the festivities which ranged from a Touch Rugby session hosted by Lions Legend Matt Dawson, an Australian BBQ cooked by former England Captain, Phil Vickery and a special live Q&A with five members of 2013 Lions Squad including new Lions Captain Sam Warburton, George North, Rob Kearney, Ben Youngs and Geoff Parling.
We had a really strong media presence including Sky Sports News, BBC Radio London,TalkSport, The Daily Telegraph and The Sun who all came down to cover the story.
overall the players really enjoyed the day, meeting budding young players and answering a range of eccelectic questions from the audience on the upcoming Tour/
